This is a  Boundless Playground.  This playground was built by volunteers from the American Association of Orthopaedic surgeons in partnership with KaBOOM! as part of their annual meeting.  The playground is made up of two age-appropriate play structures-one for children between the ages of two and five, and one for six to 12 year-olds. Injury prevention tips posted throughout the playground are also printed in Braille. Slides, swings, climbing and balancing activities, sun protection shades and a variety of play stations for imaginative activities are additional features of the playground.

The Playworld Systems playground includes climbing walls, slides, a rope bridge, two handicap-accessible swings, ground-level activities with wheelchair ramps and other attractions in a continuous, oval design.

The Playground Without Limits at Alief Park was designed to be bright, exciting, and fully accessible so park visitors with disabilities can interact with their friends on an equal basis. Those with sight and hearing impairments will find that the play equipment offers fun, sensory-rich activities. Braille and sign panels encourage learning and interaction. Children with mobility issues can join in the play via a series of ramps and transfer systems that allows access to 90% of the play structure. A rubberized ground surface and covered picnic areas are available to the whole family so that everyone can interact at the playground. Those who may have felt that the world was not open to them will know that this is a place for them and for all children.
