Although it is located on the school grounds folks are welcome to use it whenever it is not in use during the school day. The equipment was selected by a team of parents, OT, PT, Special Ed and PE teachers.  The ribbon cutting was September 2017.

This Leather and Associates playground includes a centralized Pirate Ship complete with waves, a rain wheel and a motion platform.  There are numerous slides, bridges, rings and monkey bars (both high and low), and tunnels to explore.  There is a lighthouse just like the in Port Washington’s Harbor, a rock wall with a fantastic underwater mural, chain walk, and balance beams.  In the TOT Lot, a fairy tale castle, bouncy bridge, police car and a raised sandbox inspire younger children.  Both areas include a variety of swings, including several designed with additional support for children with limited muscle strength.  A music area features palm drums, metalliphones and a drum shaped like an alligator!

Tri-Angels all inclusive playground was built as a memorial to honor three girls and how they lived, rather than their tragic deaths. The playground is themed around what the girls were interested in -Fashion, Bugs, and Sports. The playground features multiple GameTime play structures, ramped and accessible, playful art climbers, saucer swing, accessible swings, traditional swings, music, shade and other site furnishings. The girls’ art work is also featured in signage throughout the playground. Cunningham Recreation, GameTime and Unlimited Project.

This playground at Valley View Elementary School serves not only the students at the school, but the community, as well.

The inspiration for this playground is Ben Nelson, a Valley View student who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and is in a wheelchair.t.

The effort also received media support from Newsradio 620, as part of the WTMJ Cares campaign, raising about $50,000 from listeners and station sponsors.
