 rk in East Richmond and offers various amenities including an artificial tu
 rf field\, spray/waterplay\, community garden\, and a picnic area.\r\n\r\nT
 his sports oriented community park has many opportunities for outdoor play 
 including 5 sports fields 4 ball diamonds\, 3 basketball courts\, 3 tennis 
 courts and spectator bleachers. The King George Park artificial turf field 
 opened in September 2008 and provides a top-rate playing surface for all fi
 eld sports groups.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the the sports amenities in the pa
 rk\, there is a themed waterplay area with geysers\, spray toys and more. T
 his spray park opens the week of July 1 and closes after Labour Day\, or as
  weather permits. In extreme dry summers\, the waterplay area may be closed
  for water conservation purposes.\r\n\r\nNear the waterplay area is the "Ga
 thering Place"\, a unique gathering area as it provides seating for Adjacen
 t to the Gathering Place is a large picnic space for large groups and event
 s. The picnic venue is perfect for summertime company events and large fami
 ly gatherings. This picnic area is available on a first come\, first served
  basis and can no longer be booked through the City of Richmond Rentals off
 ice.
