Colorado Springs

Swing High Playground–Located in Memorial Park, 715 Prospect Lake Dr. A 100% universally accessible playground that was designed with the assistance of Shane’s Inspiration, a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, CA that specializes in universally accessible playground design. This PlayBooster® playstructure brings nature right into the playground. With lots of unique components like the log slide, log crawl tunnel, Natural Climbers and the custom flower shade structure.  There are accessible pathways and rubber surfacing; cozy spots where children can gather; harnessed swings with back support; and elevated sand tables and activity panels. Equipment incorporated into the playground was requested at a public design workshop hosted in spring 2007. The play area also includes accessible picnic areas and family-style restrooms. The playground equipment Landscape Structures Inc. and was built by Rocky Mountain Recreation.

Fort Collins

Inspiration Playground–Located in Spring Canyon Community Park 2626 West Horsetooth.  This is a Shane’s Inspiration Playground with equipment from Landscape Structures.  The playground consultant on the project was Rocky Mountain Recreation. The complete park boasts 100 acres nestled against the foothills of western Fort Collins.  The park includes: a 2+ acre dog park complete with a lake for our doggie paddling pals,a free ride course for endless mountain biking fun, picnic shelters, trails, open turf areas, ballfields, lighted basketball and tennis courts, Art in Public Places projects, and scenic landscapes.

The park has with easy access to Cottonwood Glen Neighborhood Park and Pine Ridge Natural Area. Spring Canyon Community Park also plays a key role in connecting Fort Collins hard surface trail system as Spring Creek Trail and Fossil Creek Trail connect at the park. There are parking lots at either end of the park; on the north side at Overland Trail and the south side at Horsetooth Road.

Lafayette

Kids’ Park Lafayette–located near Lafayette Elementary School, 101 North Bermont Avenue.  The mission of Kids’ Park Lafayette is to provide a safe, accessible, learning and recreational environment to people of ALL ages and ALL abilities. This requires the natural inclusion of disabled kids, adults and elderly into this accessible environment. There are two accessible playgrounds divided by age groups.   In addition to the accessible playgrounds, there is an accessible Sensory Botanical Garden on the grounds of Lafayette Elementary School which stimulates the senses through use of flowers and plants (sight and smell), musical instruments, chimes, and seed pods (hearing), textured plants (touch), and edible herbs (taste).

Windsor

Boardwalk Community Park100 North 5th Street. The park includes natural amphitheater, Town of Windsor Museums, A Boundless Playground, 2 shelters, parking lot, a swimming beach at Windsor Lake, & Windsor Lake Trail. The Colorado Lottery awarded a 2009 Starburst Community Award to the Town of Windsor for renovations at Boardwalk Park.
