This directory lists playgrounds that have inclusive and accessible features. Yes, we would all love to have the perfect inclusive playground in our neighborhood. But we know that is not reality. Here you can find the best of the best as well as playgrounds that have added accessible swing seats or other accessible feature.

We know that it is difficult to push a wheelchair through wood mulch (EWF) and we have done our best to let you know about the surfacing.

In the BIO section, you will find a description of the playground. In the NOTES section, you will find information about the park the playground resides.

All of the playgrounds (at the time of publication) are open to the public. Any of the playgrounds located at schools, you can assume are open afterschool and on weekends. You may want to call the school to check on the opening times.

We have done our best to give as much information as we can find to describe the playgrounds. But we cannot visit all of these playgrounds, so please let us know what we are missing by submitting the park using the button below.

Biography This Landscape Structure’s playground opened in 2014. The surfacing is wood mulch (EWF) which may make it more difficult for some people to maneuver through the playground. The playground includes: a group swing, an Omni Spin and A ZipKrooz Assisted zip line experience

Biography This park has a Custom Tug Boat for children ages 2-5 and a Custom Shrimp Boat recommended for ages 5-12 on poured in place surfacing. There is also a splash pad to add to the fun. Check before going to see if still open.

Biography Play Garden Park is located next to the public library. This park has a Custom Castle Theme with areas for children ages 2-‐5 years old and areas for older kids ages 5–12 years old. The areas are on poured in place surfacing with fencing around the entire play area. Play Garden Park offers beautiful landscaping with sidewalks, benches to rest, and a fountain. There is also a pavilion on the grounds.

Biography The “Tread Town” playground is designed to allow children with and without disabilities to play together. ATD/Tire Pros opened this in partnership with its franchisees. The Tire Pros-sponsored Tread Town parks take the Boundless Playground design one step further, using recycled rubber from approximately 400 scrapped tires for the foundation for each playground. This type foundation creates a universally accessible surface that allows children and caregivers with and without disabilities to navigate freely and safely, ATD said. Tread Towns also feature a specially designed tire swing with state-of-the art solid harnesses for children who need additional back support, along with other cutting-edge fitness and educational-based activities.
