Little Wings Preschool is part of the Presbyterian Homes & Family Services (PHFS) in Lynchburg, Virginia. The preschool is a cooperative program of the PHFS, Lynchburg Public Schools and Randolph College Department of Education. Because of this partnership, the preschool is designed to be researched based. The preschool uses the High Scope Curriculum and enrolls children with both typical and atypical learners. Therefore, when they added their new playground, they wanted to design one that all of their children could play on. To further enhance the playground they used Playground Grass.
The playground is open to the public during non-school hours. How do you think this playground meets the needs of preschoolers with and without special needs? What would you have done differently?
